Yes, I'm still alive!

Steve Tracy, pictured here, is the new CEO at Sunshine Terrace. His comment was "Does this make my butt look big?"

These goofy people are the new leaders at the Terrace. We were cooking breakfast for the staff and Steve didn't want to get his clothes dirty. So, we all joined him in a zute suit!

Well...where to begin? My life has beened turned upside down. I am now the Administrator of the Wellness Center. It houses 4 separate businesses. A fitness center, outpatient therapy/ aquatic clinic, home health business and a home help business.Quite an opportunity, but a what FULL platter!
I'll try to update more often.

SAR

Yeah... that's me

I supposedly had a 30 foot fall...
looks pretty real though

Compound femur fracture and possible spine/neck injuries

We were up Millville Canyon. It was a mach high angle rescue.

They were going to lower my off a sheer rock face. But darn it, they didn't have everything they needed, so they called it off. It was pitch black and getting cold. I really don't mind heights, however... I really didn't like being strapped down.

He did it!

On July 29th,Katelyn and I flew out to San Diego, CA for Kasey's Marine Corp graduation. We got up before the butt crack of dawn (3:30 a.m.), got dressed and headed for the airport. Our flight left at 6:25 and stopped in Las Vegas and then on to San Diego. We arrived at 8:10 local time. Much to my disappointment, to find that our hotel DID NOT have pickup service from the airport! I was a little ticked off. So,Katelyn and I took a taxi to our hotel, to find that they did not have our reservations! By this time I was more than just a little mad! AND check in was at 3:00 p.m. So I took out my trusty iphone and started searching for another hotel. The girl at the counter said "hang on I'll get you something". So we had to check our bags with them and go walk around till 11:00 and she finally got us a room. By this time,we were beat. We got into our room and took a 2 hour nap. From the looks of the hotel I was expecting a roach hotel. But it was actually nice.

What an experience! Most of the time I couldn't talk... if I would have I'd have been crying. I can't tell you how it has affected me. It is now my son putting his life on the line and that is a whole different ball game. When we were there, they welcomed us, saying that we are now a part of the Marine Corp family and boy do you feel it now!

This is a picture of their "Rack" or bed. Lets see... the deck = the floor, porthole = windows, the head = the bathroom. That's all I remember ;)

Weekend at Grandma's

Some of my kids came and spent the night with me.

So I put them to work, sort of. GREAT HELPERS!!!

We went to town and got some lunch, went to the movie. Came home and took a little dip in the pool, then we set up the tent to sleep in.

Sure do wish ALL my kids were here to enjoy the fun!

These pics are just as we are going to bed.

Yes, even Remi got in on the action.
It rained ALL night, but the kids slept right through it. I however, was awake all night making sure kids were covered and staying away from the walls of the tent.

Pool Weekend

Well , I got the pool set up this weekend

Bug tryed it out for a bit, said it was a little chilly.

But before she got out, we decided to check out my new camera, UNDER WATER!

What do you think? I guess the test will be if I can take more pictures after this little dip!

Memorable Memorial

Lets see, where to begin???
I went up Lefthand canyon, just across from the Hyrum City property, to help SAR on friday night. I was to be there from 4 to 8 pm. I only had one disturbance in that time but it did require police assistance. Anyway just before my shift ended, Katelyn came bombing up the road in my truck. Let me preface that by saying we were camped just over the cattle guard, just down from the Hyrum City property, so very close to where I was(Picture seen above). She said the people next to us were threatening them. She said the guy was saying they owned the canyon for the weekend and we couldn't be there. Swearing and pitching a fit. Well if you know Katelyn, you know she doesn't back down very easily and she left and came and got me. When I got there they didn't say a word. But I could see this going south. It was only Friday evening and they were already drunk and rowdy. So, we proceeded to hook up the trailers and move them away from the Klampets about 100 feet. We parked the trailers in an L shape to block the idiots. It was successful, but the weekend was very interesting. I think the mountain man rendezvous is an excuse to do whatever they want. Long story short...at approximately 2:15 a.m. a life flight helicopter landed just behind our trailer. A man had been stabbed, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Interesting don't you think?

This is Hayden & Alli playing while we were camping. Hayden wanted to go down the road and Alli just kept going in circles. Pretty funny to watch!

This was our nice neighbors to the south of us. This kid had a little crush on Katelyn, but was a very nice boy.

Ben & Riley came up for dinner Sunday night.
Nice weekend but mental note to NEVER camp there during The Mt Man Rendevous.

Spring Break

Zions Park was our destination... yes again. At least the temperatures are warm there...
Austin was saying something about, "please don't make me look over the edge", "I'm good right here, I don't want to stand up!!!" Funny... now that I think about it, that is the way he climbed all the way up Angels Landing.

He did offer to catch Katelyn though...

Yes Austin I know I have a big butt...

Keeping the mountain lions away... Teri name that movie!

The rest of the clan resting at the bottom

SAY CHEEZE!!!

6th Photo Tag

I too was tagged by Konie. This is my sixth file and the sixth photo in that file.

This was a fun memory for me. In fact, it was a blast. Camping with my family in the Island Park area and going fishing. We had a running competition each year to see who could catch the biggest fish (I hold the title). In the picture is Lee, my oldest, Katelyn,my youngest, and two nephews, Dylan and Austin. Lots of good times were had in this area.

Man, I am ready to go back now! And Lee if you read this... your fish no longer count in this competition, Alaska is out of bounds. That or I have to be there to witness and be able to compete with you!!!

Now lets see... who should I tag?

Meeting Miss Eliza

The end of February found me traveling with Ben and Riley to Virgina to meet my newest granddaughter, Eliza. She is my sixth grandchild (man that just sounded old).
So far the mother prediction has held true. Lee will have all boys (he has two), Teri will have all girls (she has two), and Riley will have some of both (she has one of each). Someone needs to get busy and prove me wrong.

What a cutie! Eliza is such a happy little baby.

GAME NIGHT

Teri... wha'ju do?
Augh!!!

I had a blast. It was such a wonderful opportunity to spend time with my granddaughters! Thanks to Teri and Beau for being such great hosts and putting up with all the tour duties.

Goin to the Dogs

Face it... I hang out with a bunch of dogs. Recognize Remi?

Cool pointy eared dogs

Dumb floppy eared dogs (kidding)

I spent the weekend at Sherwood Hills working avalanche problems and testing dogs. Which means I was hiding in a barrel buried in the snow. Kasey was good enough to volunteer his time to be a victim as well. I also had the opportunity to test Remi for level II Avalanche and she passed. Over all it we a great weekend, but now I need a weekend from my weekend.
